Product description

Inspired by countless ice-fishing days and friendly competitions around the waters off the city of Loviisa, this vertical jig carries a bit of that coastline in its name.

Designed by Hannu Kangas, the Nils Master Loviisa has a shape that really shows its character on the drop and widens your strike zone. Let it fall freely and it'll work its way towards the bottom with a gentle, tempting sideways flutter like a baitfish in distress. The spoon-like body of the Loviisa jig is at its best when you give it long, steady lifts and let it settle back down close to the bottom — right where most strikes happen.

Thanks to its weight and shape, the Loviisa isn’t just for ice-fishing. It also shines during the open-water season when boat jigging. Just sweep the rod up and let the lure glide back down under its own weight. You can even work it with spinning gear by letting it touch bottom between retrieves. More often than not, the hit comes during that natural, vibrating fall.
