Nils Master Keno – A True Multi-Purpose Lure for All Seasons
Nils Master Keno is a vertical metal jig that goes far beyond traditional ice fishing. Originally developed for winter use, its balanced design and responsive action make it equally effective for summer casting, jigging and even light trolling.
Keno delivers a sensitive, lively movement. Retrieved like a jig, it produces a distinct vibration and reacts precisely to subtle rod movements. On the pause, it enters a controlled free-fall — a key triggering phase that imitates a distressed baitfish and often provokes the strike.
Available in classic finishes and high-visibility GLOW colours, Keno stands out in low light conditions and deep water, giving you a clear advantage when fish are less active or water clarity is low.
This combination of action and colour makes Keno especially effective for perch and a proven favorite among experienced Nordic anglers. It also performs exceptionally well for zander and sea trout in casting applications.
When trolling, Keno works best at approximately 4 km/h (2.5 mph), maintaining a stable, smooth swaying shimmer in the water.
For open-water fishing, equipping the lure with a size #6 treble hook is recommended to optimise hook-up performance.

Fishing Tips
Casting for perch: Target weed edges and shoreline reeds. Retrieve slowly with intermittent pauses — many strikes occur during the free-fall phase.
Ice fishing: Let the lure fall to the bottom, lift approx. 30 cm, pause, then use long controlled upward pulls, allowing the jig to free-fall between movements.
Suitable for casting — match your tackle to the size and weight of the lure.
Try in trolling with a canoe, rowboat or motor boat.
Available in GLOW colour options to improve visibility in low-light conditions.
