Bete Utö – a classic spoon for cold water and pike in the archipelago
The Bete Utö has built a reputation as a reliable pike spoon, particularly in the Finnish archipelago and in cold water. The wide, evenly shaped body produces a calm, rolling action — well suited for autumn pike fishing when fish are moving slowly.
Heavy enough to cast well in windy conditions. The metal finish carries in the water on sunny days. The middle hole allows an additional hook or attractor to be added when needed.
The Utö has been part of the Finlandia-uistin range since 1978. Originally developed by the Tysklind brothers in Sweden in the 1940s, it is now made in Finland using traditional tools and genuine materials — copper, German silver or brass. The seemingly simple shape is the result of many production steps. Built to last season after season — and easy to recycle or restore.
Available in three sizes: 62 mm, 75 mm and 95 mm. The smaller sizes work well for sea trout, perch and trout — the larger sizes for pike and other big predators.
