The Bete Utö spoon: A True Legend for Pike Hunters
The Bete Utö has earned its stripes as a go-to pike spoon, especially in the Finnish archipelago and during those chilly water months when the big ones start biting.
Heads up: the product pics are temporary – sorry about that, we’re working on it!
Thanks to its solid weight, the Utö is super easy to cast even in windy weather. Its wide and evenly shaped body gives it a nice, calm swimming action: just what you want when stalking autumn pikes in colder waters.
When the sun’s out, Utö's shiny finish gives off the kind of flash that triggers old instincts and it’s like the underwater version of ringing the dinner bell for big pike. Pair that sparkle with Utö’s mellow movement, and it’s no wonder pike find it hard to resist.
These classic Bete spoons are made the traditional way from real copper, brass, and German silver, and the roots of our Bete lures go all the way back to 1940s Sweden, and the Utö spoon – developed by the Tysklind brothers – is a great example of what thoughtful lure design looks like: built on tradition, made to last.
Finnish handcrafted lures with 60 years of experience.
The shape and weight of this lure makes it good for casting.
We use real copper, brass and German silver.
