Nils Master Spearhead PRO 8 cm – the trusted classic, now with extra detail

The Spearhead has earned its place over decades, especially on northern salmon rivers like the Teno, where it has been a go-to lure since the 1960s. The PRO series brings two ways to add detail to this classic: UV accents or a holographic finish.

Salmonids perceive UV light differently from humans. In overcast conditions and low light, UV light is proportionally more abundant than visible light and penetrates deeper — exactly when UV details stand out. The holographic finish reflects light from multiple angles and works best in clear, cold water.

The shape remains the same: the distinctive side-fin design, slightly unusual, and effective for exactly that reason. A stainless steel wire runs through the full length of the body — built to handle a fight with a big salmon. Tight, searching swim at around 2.5 metres. Suitable for casting, rowboat trolling and slow motor trolling. Rises to the surface when the retrieve stops.

Care & Adjustment

Let wooden lures dry properly after fishing — they’ll thank you for it.

If the lure runs slightly out of tune, fine-tune it by carefully adjusting the eyelet angle. Leave the plastic lip alone — it’s already doing exactly what it should.

If the lip is damaged during a tough fight, it can be easily replaced with a spare part.
